Hydrographics is a method of applying printed designs that can transform the surface of any 3D object. This water transfer imaging process can be applied to the surface of materials such as metals, wood plastic, stone, and ceramic, and decorate almost any item that can be submerged under water. Right now it is becoming very popular to personalise alloy wheels, bumpers, grills, antenna and mirrors. Dashboards can be renewed with variety of wood designs and in the motorcycle world a little imagination can transform a bike. Choices of skulls, flames, animal prints or wood effects, alog with many other choices, can add that perfect personal touch to make your vehicle dtsnd out from any other. We can give a unique look to personal objects and a new lease of life to your favourite household articles.
Step 1: Clean Firs we make sure the item is very clean and free from dust, grease and water, sanding down where necessary and masking off any parts that are not meant to get any treatment. Careful work at this stage prevents disappointment at the end. Step 2: Prime The most important part of this stage is to make sure that the following procedures have something to stick to and with or knowledge and expertise we can select the correct primer from stock of plastic, metal and other priming paints in our workshop. Step 3: Base Coat Next is to apply the base coat that works best with pattern you have chosen or if the film has clear parts we can use colour chosen creatively by you. Step 4: Dip This is everybodyâÂÂs favourite part of the process. The item is now ready to be dipped the hydrographics film pattern of your choice and is cut to size and laid slowly and carefully on the surface of the water in our Water Transfer Printing tank The ink wraps 360 degrees around the object and an activator is applied to the film. Finally we move it our rinsing station where it is gently rinsed. Step 5: Clear coat When the item is dry it is time to apply the clear coat ranging from matt to super high gloss. This final stage adds protection from the elements and chipping. When it is dry we give it a final light polish.
